On August 28th, the first event was held at the Ravalora’t coworking space, more specifically in the multipurpose room. The event was organized by the CNAACAT Collective, the territorial section in Catalonia of the CNAAE. An association of the black African and Afro-descendant community of Spain, dedicated to delving into the political framework to eradicate structural racism, promote recognition, justice and development for Africans and Afro-descendants living in the country. 

The event was attended by more than 30 people, who for 4 hours experienced a mix of presentations by the organizers and moments of open discussions with the participation of the attendees. The event took place in our multipurpose room, where they were able to maximize the adaptability of the room, creating a line of chairs in a “U” shape on the sides of the room, creating an open center of the room, with freedom of movement for the speakers. To show their multimedia content, they used the portable television in the coworking space. Apart from the multipurpose room, we als omade the entrance of the AECV available to them for catering with typical Senegalese food, as well as the terrace to get some fresh air. 

It turned out to be a resounding success and was undoubtedly the beginning of many more, we are looking forward to seeing what future occasions will bring. We have learned invaluable lessons from the organization and execution of the event that will help us improve and optimize our service.
